The inaugural minors draft will be 20 rounds in a snake format, with the original order being randomized. Round 2 and round 3 will be in reverse order of the first round, with the snake draft continuing from that point. So Rd 1 is 1-20, Rd 2 is 20-1, Rd 3 is 20-1, Rd 4 is 1-20 and Rd 5 is 20-1 and so on.
No unsigned high school, college or international players are eligible to be in our minors systems. All players must be under the 130 AB or 50 IP limits for their careers.
Every August, after the signing deadline has passed, we will hold our own 3 round FYP draft. In this draft only players selected in the MLB First Year Player draft will be eligible.
Every off season, excluding the inaugural draft, we will hold a 5 round minors draft. All eligible minors leaguers, including those still available from FYP draft can be drafted.
For all future years other than the inaugural season, the minor league draft will be a "ladder" draft, with the worst team drafting first and the champion drafting last (1-20, 1-20, 1-20). The ties will be broken by "Regular Season Finish" listed on ESPN. The playoff teams will take the last 8 picks, and the ties for draft order will also be broken by Regular Season Finish.
Each team will have their own minors system. This roster will not exceed 40 players. Players can not be international free agents, college or high school players, and must have had, at one time, a contract with a major league organization. Only players under the 130 AB or 50 IP limit are eligible. If an international free agents signs with a MLB organization, he will be eligible for our minors draft if he is 24 or under on Jan 1st of the calendar year that he signed in. Each off season a grade will be assigned to each player, per John Sickels' grades at minorleagueball.com. These grades will determine their salary when being promoted.
