Gents,
I hope you all have enjoyed the holiday break and are as ready as I am to get back into the DLF mindset! It feels great to dive into our 13th season of play!
The 2024 Winter Meetings forum is up and running in the League Questions board. I'm sure there will be plenty to discuss this offseason.
The League Calendar is up-to-date with the schedule of our offseason activities.
The first order of business to announce the Arbitration Results from 2023. Here is the ARB:GRAD document that I used to track everything. Your team pages on Fantrax have been updated and fully rolled over to represent these raises. All players with an ARB contract have 1 of 3 listings: CAT-A, CAT-B, or CAT-C. The CAT-C listing is a new note that I started using this year, but structurally it doesn't change anything within the arbitration process. CAT-A represents those players that didn't meet the 150 AB or 50 IP threshold to be eligible, thus they received no raise and no advancement. The CAT-B listing represents all players who surpassed the 150 AB or 50 IP threshold and received a $1 Arb Raise and 1 year contract advancement. The CAT-C listing represents all CAT-B players that qualified for the additional $1 Positional Raise, so they received a total of $2 in Arb Raise and were advanced one contract year. The Arb Notes will remain in place until the Non-Tender Deadline (due before Feb. 1st) to assist with any decision making that you may need.
Next, you can check out the Prediction Contest tab on the spreadsheet to see the results of last year's contest. These winnings have already been applied to each team's budget. If you have any questions about the contest results, don't hesitate to ask for clarification. Here's a quick breakdown of the tiers:
$1 Awarded:
MIL- 6pts
KC- 12pts
TB- 18pts
$2 Awarded:
SEA- 40pts
$3 Awarded:
NYY- 43pts
BOS- 45pts
MIA- 50pts
PHI- 52pts
HOU- 53pts
$4 Awarded:
ARI- 66pts
LAD- 68pts
ATL- 70pts
MIN- 72pts
BAL- 74pts
SF- 76pts
CHC- 77pts
Comp Pick:
CHC
The Non-Tender Deadline, which is also the deadline to promote graduates is Feb. 1st, so those decisions need to be posted BEFORE that date.
Trading will be unlocked on Friday, January 12th.
There are a few behind-the-scenes projects that I'm looking to accomplish this season, and have posted a couple "help wanted" posts in the General Board. While my goal has always been to reduce the amount of work on the LMs for the day-to-day running of the league, I want to be proactive and fill the time we've recouped with projects to improve the user experience, the tracking of our league history, and the general management of league business. So keep an eye out for these improvements and announcements.
I can't wait to hear what everyone has for our discussion threads and look forward to an eventful Winter Meetings!!!
Cheers
