Updating Minor League Prospect Grades

Just so everyone is aware;

When John Sickels (minorleagueball.com) posts his preliminary prospect grades, i will be tracking them in the 2013 column for each team's roster on the spreadsheet. These grades are not final until his book is published, but they do give a little bit of insight to the fluctuation or change in grades for players from year to year. So far he has done 20-25 for each of the Twins and Braves organizations, so you can see the grades reflected on your roster sheets. As each organization gets posted, i'll update them as promptly as possible.

I don't understand, so if I did my homework and drafted someone when they were flying under the radar when they were a C and they played well last year and he upgrades them to a B, I have to pay based on a B grade if/when I bring them up? Doesn't seem right at all.

When we discussed this, we decided that the sheer fact that a player you drafted in the final 5-6 rounds turned into anything positive is enough alone. I'm sure many would happily pay $1 to trade a C prospect for a B prospect, or a B prospect for an A.

That was our thought process from the beginning and we stuck with it.
