Crazy Playoff Prediction Time!!!!!
Detroit makes the playoffs. As the #8 seed.
Yes, they are 5-8, but I see it. Here's the remaining schedule they face:
14 - ATL (3-9-1)
15 - TOR (4-6-3)
16 - SEA (5-6-2)
17 - PIT (1-10-2)
18 - TEX (7-5-1)
19 - WAS (5-8-0)
20 - MIN (8-5-0)
21 - TOR (4-6-3)
Right now, I could see them beating ATL and PIT for sure (no offense guys). That gives them 7-8. I'd give them a loss to MIN as well, so 7-9. Remaining:
TOR (x2), TEX, SEA, WAS
If they snipe the TOR matchups (not too far fetched) and take home the WAS matchup, we're looking at a 10-9 record, with TEX and SEA still pending. If they can pull out just one of these games, they'd be sitting at 11-10 with an outside chance at the playoffs. I don't think that it's too far fetched to think that the middle teams beat each other up (HOU plays 5/8 games against 6 or 7 win teams). The South seems like the winner might be 12 wins if they are lucky, and the West remains close, and could end up with a 11 game champ as well. I think that Detroit definitely faces an uphill battle, but...
